Claim terms, version 2026-10-22

The exact sentences a claimant, contributor or inquirer ticks. Each acknowledgement stores this version and the SHA-256 of the sentence it covers, so what was agreed can be shown later. A published version is never edited; changes get a new version. These terms cover claimant-supplied material only and are separate from the research authors' data and licence.

attest

I am authorised to represent this organisation for this site, the owner or my agreement does not forbid naming it here, and what I entered is accurate. I understand that the organisation (or "Private owner"), my role and the check date will be shown on the record and listed as open data, and that my name, email, note and proof URL stay private. I can withdraw the claim at any time.

contribution

Text and facts I contribute (corrections, notes, captions) are licensed to Retrofit Atlas and its successors on a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable basis to store, publish labelled Contributed, and include in the Atlas's data products. I keep ownership. This licence is separate from the research authors' data and licence.

I hold the rights to this photo, no identifiable person appears in it without permission, and I grant Retrofit Atlas and its successors a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to store, display, redistribute and include it in the Atlas's data products, labelled Contributed with the credit shown. I can ask for its removal at desk@retrofitatlas.org.

consent

My message, email address and any name, organisation and interest I give go to the claimant, with my address as reply-to. Retrofit Atlas keeps a copy for up to 24 months to run this service and may count inquiries in aggregate (site, month, stated interest; no personal data). Removal: desk@retrofitatlas.org.

assignability

Personal data held to run this service (name, email, note, proof, messages) is used only for that purpose and would transfer with the service only to a successor bound by these same terms. It is never published and never sold on its own.

Published 2026-10-22. Previous versions: 2026-10-21 (the first published version; the consent sentence did not name the relayed fields and the attestation did not mention the owner's agreement). The contracting entity and governing law are stated in the site terms; they apply here too. Privacy applies alongside. Questions: desk@retrofitatlas.org.
